Impact Glass

See it to believe it. Safeguard laminated impact glass makes the window itself hard to break through, so you don’t need bars or shutters blocking your view.

Krasiva® Safeguard Security Glass

Instead of buying unsightly security bars, expensive custom security screens or steel roll shutters that all block your view, why not have the glass itself protect you from people breaking in? For additional security, you have the option to add our “Safeguard impact” glass. There is an increase in the price, but the security increases dramatically.

What Is Laminated Impact Glass?
Laminated glass is two layers of glass bonded to a tough plastic layer in between. When something hits it, the glass can crack, but the pieces stick to the plastic and the pane stays in the frame. Regular window glass breaks into an open hole. Tempered glass, used in doors and next to tubs, shatters into small pebbles. You can compare them on our glass types page.

What It Does for a Phoenix Home
  • Keeps your view. No bars, security screens or roll shutters in front of the window.
  • Cuts outside noise. The plastic layer dampens sound, which helps near busy streets.
  • Blocks most UV rays. That helps keep floors, furniture and art from fading in the Arizona sun.
What It Won’t Do
No glass is unbreakable. Safeguard glass makes getting in hard and slow, not impossible. It also costs more than our standard glass. A common approach is to put it where it counts most: ground-floor windows on a side yard or alley, a bedroom facing the street, or a home that sits empty while you’re away for the summer.
