What Is an Exterior Door?
While “entry door” and “exterior door” are often used interchangeably, exterior doors can refer to any outward-facing door on the home. An exterior door refers to any door that provides access from the inside of your home to the outdoors. This includes front entry doors, side doors, back patio access doors, and garage-to-home swinging doors. Exterior Doors must withstand the elements so they are built much stronger and heavier than normal doors inside the home.
Benefits of Upgrading Your Exterior Doors
Replacing your exterior doors can deliver immediate and long-term benefits, like improved home security, easier operation, better energy efficiency and insulation, lower utility bills in Arizona’s extreme heat, enhanced curb appeal, and increased home value.
Modern exterior doors are engineered with insulated cores, durable finishes, and secure locking systems, making them a smart investment for Phoenix homeowners.
Exterior Door Installation in Phoenix, Arizona
The choice of who installs your door and how it is installed is at least as important as the quality of the door itself. Many exterior door installation companies will have one installer go to three different residences in one day to install three different doors. This only allots a couple of hours per door at most. It is virtually impossible to properly align, install and trim out a door in a quality manner under such time constraints.
To install an exterior door correctly requires patience, care, and attention to detail. To start with, the slab under the door is almost never level. If you’re in a hurry, you may fail to grind some high spots or shim some low spots, as proper leveling takes time. A door that is not installed on a properly leveled base will not operate as intended over time.
Additionally, installing a door so that it is perfectly “plumb” (straight up and down) is something that is often overlooked. Many installers simply line the door frame up with the interior drywall to make the finishing work easier. The problem is that interior walls are rarely perfectly straight. If the door is installed to match a wall that is slightly out of alignment, the door itself will also be out of alignment, which can affect how it opens, closes, and seals.Installing a door plumb in a wall that is not, increases the skill level required and the time it takes to trim a door out. Some companies take this shortcut because it reduces the amount of finishing and trim work time and skill level required, allowing installers to move quickly from one job to the next. Our installers take a different approach. They are highly trained, paid by the hour, and never rushed from project to project, allowing them to take the time necessary to ensure that every door is installed correctly and operates exactly as it should.

What Makes our Entry Doors Unique?
Our fiberglass doors have the most strength of any fiberglass door system because they are constructed with LVL or Glulam styles & rails. This is what makes warping a thing of the past. All our door frames are made out of custom hardwoods (USUALLY solid Alder or solid Oak) for strength, and it keeps the door straight. Many Phoenix homeowners are unaware of the fact that the frame is more important than the door for longevity, and most replacement fiberglass entry door companies in town ignore this fact due to the associated cost.
Other fiberglass doors in the Phoenix area are sold with finger-joint, composite or at best, Pine door frames. These door frame materials are not sufficient to keep a door straight for years to come (see the short video clip below for a better understanding). We understand our customers are looking to us to know what they need because this is our profession. We will not deliver an entry door to the customer without knowing every component is best for them in both form and function. If you are looking for something even more secure, our entry doors can be outfitted with multipoint locks, straight from the factory.

Door Sidelite Configuration Options
Single entry doors or double entry doors can have one or two sidelites added to them. The sidelites can be an all-glass direct set; they can vent with a screen on the inside or they can open like the door panel to allow you to carry a refrigerator or a sofa in through the door and sidelite. We call this sidelite a “sofa sidelite”. All of them will be built inside custom hardwood door frames. If you don’t have an opening big enough, we can create a larger opening in the wall for you in most cases. A door’s configurations are just as important as its style and each of our customers has their own priorities. Allow us to accommodate yours! Below are some examples of the different entry door configurations we offer.

Entry Door Texture Options
Fiberglass doors come in both textured and smooth skins. Wood-grain textured fiberglass entry doors offer luxurious wood grains (Oak, Mahogany, Walnut, and Douglas fir) for staining.
The grains are random, just like real wood, so it is very difficult to tell the difference. We also have many decorative glass options available to make any entry way truly grand.
Smooth fiberglass doors, on the other hand, have a slick, smooth surface for painting. Once painted, they look identical to painted wood.
Our team has decades of experience in entry door replacement. We’re on your side in picking out a perfect entry door to meet the functional and stylistic needs of your home. Our installation team is well known for our efficient installation process. We offer a free initial consultation and estimate. Customers say our prices are extremely fair for our high-quality products and services.
