Andersen Fibrex windows are great for window openings that are rectangular in shape, as there are significant limitations to curving the Fibrex material. Curved windows like half circles and eyebrows only come in limited standard sizes. Custom sizing a replacement window that is curved is not an option. If your project involves curved windows, you may want to consider vinyl windows, aluminum windows, or clad wood windows.
- To install composite windows as a replacement window in a stucco wood frame home, we recommend cutting back the stucco to install the windows with a nail fin in most cases (installation method number 3).
- Andersen Fibrex windows can also be installed with a stucco flange (installation method number 1) with the old frame left in the wall but the flange is not trimmable and is easily damaged so we don’t recommend this method.
- The Fibrex window is also available in a block frame for installation in block openings or T1-11 wood openings.
